Well here we are at last at the end of an amazingly busy term.
There was so much to cram into the last week.
Last Friday, for Sports Relief Ms Gillespie from Stalham Academy ran to every Infant School in the cluster and we ran a circuit  of our field with her to cheer her on. She has raise £600 for Sport Relief and MIND
Huge well done to her .
We enjoyed a day of sporty activities and got to wear our sports kit all day.

On Monday we had the last of our science clubs when we dusted for fingerprints and searched for hidden clues using UV torches. Everyone was awarded a certificate and received a pencil and a wrist band.

On Wednesday the Reception children had a fantastic day out with Sutton and Catfield children at the Sea Life Centre

It was a fun day and a great ending to our topic on water.

Well done to Henry Munro and Emily Nicholls who have completed the Golden Mile.
We are doing really well and have done more miles than some schools that are much bigger than ours!

To finish off the term we walked to the church for an afternoon of Easter Activities, a story from Mr Watton and a yummy Easter cupcake and squash.
Thank you to Mr and Mrs Watton and their helpers for organising it all. You might have heard us coming back to school down Eastfield Road singing our Easter hymns!!!

We would like to wish everyone a very Happy Easter.
(Don't over do the chocolate!)
Have a great holiday and see you next term.

Friday 18 March 2016

This Week is British Science Week and to celebrate we had a fantastic Federation Day at Catfield.
Everyone got the chance to make stomp rockets with the Mad Scientists Dr De-en-ay and Prehistoric Pete.
There where mini bug hunts, parachutes, investigating buoyancy and density, making "quick sand" and loads of other sciencey stuff.
Here are just a few snapshots of the day. Look out for more in further posts!

Mrs H wasn't quick enough to catch the rockets actually in flight!

Testing out why things float or sink using oranges and eggs.

Who knew cornflour could do such weird things.
And yes, Mrs Mayhew did clear up all the mess afterwards!

What a wet week we have had and weren't we glad we didn't choose Wednesday for our LINKS session.

The theme was Water but we would have got very wet without all the fun!
Thanks to all our lovely parents and carers who came to join in. Here are some pictures of the watery activities.

Can you move water from one place to another without carrying it?
We had a lot of fun trying!

When you make bubble prints you have to be very careful to blow and not suck!

How many bricks you can put on your junk boat before it sinks??

Ice excavation. Chilly hands, but we found lots of treasures

Dropping very watery paint onto wet paper makes some really interesting patterns

Science Club

Can you guess what this strange line up is !
These are the members of the Science Club (Well their thumb casts at least!)
Could you guess who was who?

Friday 4 March 2016

Another very busy week!

World Book day on Thursday saw us all arrive in our pyjamas ready to share our favourite bedtime stories. Ms Nutbeam told us all about her favourite bedtime book when she was a little girl which was a book about ponies. We guessed it might be as she is mad about horses!
There was a special lunch and lots of reading and sharing stories . We have submitted a photo to the Yarmouth Mercury so look out for that.

Science club was really interesting this week. We entered a "crime scene" to search for tiny clues using tweezers and magnifying glasses. When Mrs Mayhew suggested we do a search of the classroom rug you would be amazed at what we found.   Or maybe not!!!

Well done to Lily who now has her 10 mile certificate.

Last, but certainly not least we welcomed lots of our parents to a special Mothering Sunday Assembly today, when we talked about all the amazing things our mums do for us and that even when you are older you still love to be with your mum.
